Es wurde zu einem einflussreichen Label in der Folk-Revival der 1960er-Jahre sowie ein Gemeindezentrum für Künstler und Freunde, die sich im Hauptsitz des Labels in Connecticut versammelten, um an der Entstehung und Aufführung von Folk-Musik teilzunehmen.
Obwohl das Label in der traditionellen Musik verwurzelt ist, schreckten Folk-Legacy und seine Künstler nie vor Innovationen zurück und nahmen zeitgenössische und politische Lieder sowie frische Versionen alter Klassiker auf.
Die 15-Track-Zusammenstellung umfasst das gekonnte Old-Time-Banjo-Picking von Hedy West bei "Barbara Allen", die wehmütigen Harmonien des Trios Gordon Bok, Ann Mayo Muir und Ed Trickett bei "Turning Toward the Morning" sowie Frank Proffitts Interpretation des altmodischen Standards "Little Birdie".
